My brother, his girlfriend, his mother, and I all went to the hospital to search for a doctor (pictured below) which had last seen my father before he passed away. Since we had her name, which I do not recall now, it was an easy process finding her. We went early in the day and we were told to come back at a later time. In the afternoon we headed back to see the doctor. The rooms where people get examined were packed full things: human body maps, books, medical equipment, and tables in the middle of the room stacked with medical files. It was not a very modern environment and had a sense of style one would see from around the 70′s. Regardless the doctor was very knowledgeable and spoke well about what was wrong with my father. She thought back to the last time seeing my father which I believe was several months before this past December 2011 and recalled my father being responsive and acting normally.  Fast forward to December and my father had been in the same hospital deranged and very angry, not acting normal at all with a decline in physical movement. He was not able to walk when I saw him in 2010, but I guess it got worse, something that happens with alcoholics after many years of drinking as the doctor told us.

See the thing is, there was some controversy as to what happened involving his death. I’m not even sure what really happened. The ambulance was called because he was not responding well or was unconscious, I don’t quite know. Apparently when the ambulance arrived at the apartment complex for what ever reason they did not take my father to the hospital and left him at his apartment. I will have to speak with my brother to get more details. A friend of my father ended up taking him to the hospital where I was told he did not receive any care for some amount of time. Weeks prior to this he had been having some sort of problems which eventually led to a blood clot in his brain which caused him to die.

This doctor was one of the people that really cared and tried to help my father as best she could and even she is confused why this whole situation played out as it did.

I feel pets are taken for granted in our society. Cats and dogs are so different from humans, but so alike in many ways. These odd creatures act quite differently from us yet we can create relationships with them!

Here, Daniel Delacruz is sliding on his long board and then almost crashes into me. The third shot is blurred because I had to jump up as I was taking the photograph to get out of Dan’s way.

I shot this photograph recently before the incident happened there. We don’t get too many crimes like that here in Findlay, so I feel that many people in town have been moved by this.
