These photographs represent the way I see Bulgaria as an outsider looking in. I am not a complete foreigner to the country since I was born there and travel back from time to time to see family. However living in a different country and coming home to family in Bulgaria  gives me a different perspective of Bulgaria. Many there have a sort of grim outlook towards their country. The trend that I noticed was that older individuals tend to spend their time expressing how poorly Bulgaria has been evolving, whereas the younger generations are quite the opposite. The more positive outlook does not seem to be naive in nature.

I Shoot strictly in black and white film. There are occasional moments where I shoot color for specific moments. You will find that a good portion of the Bulgaria set is in color.
